Application to Expand Service Area Sent to US Foreign-Trade Zones Board

BizFTZ’s service area is growing.  Working with economic development representatives in Blackford, Jay, LaGrange, Randolph and Steuben Counties, as well as US Customs and Border Protection and Ports of Indiana, an application to include those counties in the BizFTZ service area was submitted to the US Foreign Trade Zones Board on June 25, 2013.  Currently, these counties are under no existing Foreign-Trade Zone’s service area.  Once approved, companies in those counties interested in using a foreign-trade zone for their international trade needs will find streamlined application processes that reduce the cost of entry for participants.
