The BizFTZ brand represents the Foreign Trade Zone #182 that covers an eight county area in Northeast Indiana. The region is close to obtaining status in the Alternative Site Framework (ASF) program which will make it easier for businesses to import/export within the Foreign Trade Zone. The benefits of the ASF program will be to help a business in expediting the application process, reduce cost of entry and provide additional efficiencies. Under the current process obtaining a subzone designation is a long and expensive process – and going to ASF will make the procedures much easier and affordable. 

The change is part of the U.S. effort to support economic development and increase U.S. Exports.

 

The City of Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance and the Fort Wayne / Allen County Airport Authority have partnered to help market the BizFTZ program and inform businesses in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties about how they can save money by operating in the foreign trade zone. If you are a importer/exporter in one of these counties, you most likely will benefit from this program.
